On call 24/7, our experienced staff and technicians serve our Virginia clients with the highest-grade security products and service. We’re also proud of their tenure: about half of our employees have been with us between 10 and 40 years.

Stephen H. Wilkinson


A U.S. Navy veteran, Stephen Wilkinson launched into the security business in 1996 first working with industry leaders such as Medeco Security Locks, Best Access Systems, and Stanley Security Solutions. He saw an industry on the verge of big change and brought his naval discipline and entrepreneurial business sense from Ole Miss to Richmond when he acquired Richmond Security in 2007. Maintaining its standard as a Richmond leader in safes and mechanical locks, Stephen seized the opportunity to arise as the regional leader in access control and emerging security technologies.

Michael Moran

Manager/Service Coordinator for MAC

With almost four decades of service to Richmond Security, Michael serves on our front lines with our customers. When he’s not traveling, playing with his pups or watching sports in his free time, Michael is taking those years of experience and coordinating exceptional service for customers.

Tim Kinney

Electronic Access Control Manager

Tim has spent nearly two decades as a security technician and entrepreneur. He is a a qualified Security Consultant holding multiple certifications from a a number of telecommunications and IT platforms. Tim has a wife and three children, is active in his church and is a regular volunteer in the community.

Trey Hutcherson

Project Manager

Running the day-to-day operations of our Electronic Access Control (EAC) installation team and coordinating the many projects in our rapidly growing EAC unit is no simple task. That’s why we call on Trey and nearly two decades of industry experience to ensure things are on point. Born and raised in Richmond, Trey enjoys time with his wife and two boys outside of the office.

Todd Miller

Director of Operations

A Mississippi native and Ole Miss alum, Todd oversees day-to-day operations while also helping to drive the strategic vision of the company. Todd keeps a finger on the pulse of the organization, ensuring the team is positioned to offer the best products and service to Richmond Security customers. Married to Michelle, Todd enjoys golf and college sports – especially his Ole Miss Rebels.

David Frietsch

Purchasing Manager

From apprentice locksmith in 1981 to Richmond Security Purchasing Manager and father of three grown boys, NoVa native David Frietsch knows the ins and outs of what it means to really be secure. He works closely with our customers to understand their needs and make sure the proper equipment is there to do the job right.

Jesse Whitener

Shop Supervisor

Jesse’s is the first face you’ll see when entering the Richmond Security showroom. Whether you are having trouble with a lock, need some keys copied, or need practical advice on high-end safes in our showroom, Jesse’s infectious positive attitude will make you feel right at home. He’s also a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Bill Deutsch

Security Consultant

Bill knows that being part of a top-notch security team isn’t a sprint – it’s a marathon. And he would know. An avid marathon and endurance runner, husband of 30 years to his wife Val and father to six grown children, this New Jersey native knows what it means to be in it for the long haul. Bill began his career as an electronic security technician, has published numerous articles in industry publications including The National Locksmith, Security Products and Technology, and The Balance.

Tara Mills

Electronic Access Control (EAC) Administrative Specialist

To ensure our clients’ security needs are met we must make sure their accounts and systems are up-to-date and executing flawlessly. That’s where we call on Tara Mills. An avid cook, crocheter, outdoor enthusiast, and wife and mother of two energetic children, Tara has a lot to coordinate. She expertly brings those coordination skills to our customers to ensure uninterrupted service.
