Richmond Security Joins the “Pumpkins 4 Kids” Project

Thank You For Sharing

“Pumpkins 4 Kids” is one of the most special projects in Richmond, VA. For thirteen years and counting, Pumpkins 4 Kids has raised awareness for children who spend their Halloween in the hospital. Each year, companies around Richmond, VA join forces to support the Children’s Hospital at VCU. The Pumpkins 4 Kids project includes a pumpkin decorating contest, with the coolest pumpkins being sent to the Children’s Hospital to be shared with children who will miss trick-or-treating this year.

Our team embraced this opportunity and worked hard to create a pumpkin that could spread the Halloween spirit throughout the Children’s Hospital. We got creative this year and chose to make a Sonic pumpkin. Who says a pumpkin can’t have arms and legs?!

In the image to the right, you can see our team’s focus on delivering a top-notch pumpkin. Below, you will find several views of the final product. Our team is proud of our Sonic pumpkin, and can happily say we rolled our way to a top-10 finish, placing ninth in the pumpkin contest!

The competition in the pumpkin contest was stiff; Sonic wasn’t the only cool pumpkin out there! Look at some of the other creative pumpkins we saw, including pumpkins inspired by Scooby-Doo and the Mandalorian!

Pumpkins 4 Kids is becoming a tradition for Richmond Security, this being the fifth consecutive year we’ve participated. We’re so grateful to have been a part of such a special fundraiser. We wish everyone at the Children’s Hospital a Happy Halloween and thank everyone involved for putting on such a wonderful event.

We stepped our game up this year with our Sonic pumpkin–we’re already looking forward to creating another special pumpkin next fall!
