Richmond Security Supports Our Military by Participating in “Recruit Military” Job Fair

Richmond, VA (March 5, 2018) – There once was a time in our not too distant past that employers were inundated with qualified job applicants. HR Departments had their pick of top candidates and employers were firmly in the driver’s seat. Fast forward to 2018. With some of the lowest unemployment rates since Aug of 2000 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), an improving economy, and an increasing population moving out of the skilled trade industries, many employers are struggling to find quality candidates to fill positions.

“Since I acquired the company in 2007 this has been a first,” says Stephen Wilkinson, President of Richmond Security. “In the past we’ve had the technical expertise commensurate with our project workload to ensure favorable customer lead times. As a result of our rapid growth, we are in immediate need for experienced technicians. We have the customers and need help to fill those roles.” Richmond Security has very high standards and for good reason. “We’ve been in business for 42 years because our customers expect the best and that requires the most experienced people we can find. This is a huge challenge in our industry because of the ever changing complexity and sophistication of the technology. Experience is the key component we currently seek.”

So where does a business like Richmond Security turn? They turn to the US Military Veterans!

For the second year in a row, Richmond Security supported military veterans by participating in the Recruit Military Job Fair. This job fair is specifically designed to bring skilled Veterans together with businesses. A match that has worked well. “We find more qualified candidates at the Recruit Military Job Fair than through any other means”, says Wilkinson “In two years, Richmond Security has been able to increase its staff with talented US heroes by 10%.” Wilkinson says, “This is truly a win-win and we look forward to next year’s event!”
